Crawley Borough Council owns and manages Snell Hatch Cemetery, The Dingle, West Green, Crawley. The car park entrance is accessed from Goffs Lane.
The cemetery is open every day.
Opening hours are:
9am - 4pm October to March
9am - 7pm April to September
These times include weekends and Bank Holidays.
The cemetery is open for burials weekdays
Monday to Thursday 10 o’clock to 3 o’clock
And Friday 10 o’clock to 2 o’clock.
Snell Hatch offers the following choice of graves:
All new graves are in the lawn section. Memorials allowed are headstones at the head of the grave. The rest of the grave is grassed. There is a small area either side of the headstone where summer and winter bedding may be planted.
A new section of the cemetery has been set aside for the burial of cremated remains. Concrete kerbs allow 2 bronze plaques to be fixed and a memorial vase placed. Unfortunately no other memorialisation or tributes are allowed.
A section has been set aside within Snell Hatch Cemetery for burial of people of the Muslim faith.
All the original burial registers are kept at the Town Hall and may be inspected by appointment. The cemetery was first used for burials in 1925.
