We work in partnership with Sussex Police to ensure the prompt removal of abandoned vehicles via Operation Crackdown under the Road Traffic Act 1984.

How to report an Abandoned Vehicle

To report a vehicle you believe is abandoned visit the Operation Crackdown website and complete the online form.

What Happens Next?

An officer will inspect and photograph the vehicle and submit their report to the police via Operation Crackdown. Police will carry out checks and where appropriate provide the registered keeper details. We will then write to the registered keeper requesting that they move the vehicle. If no reply is received authorisation is requested to remove the vehicle for seven day storage, after which it will be disposed of.
