Planning Policy and Development Management covers the following areas:
Planning Policy (Forward Planning) work to deliver planning policy, guidance and implementation projects across the borough. The team produces a range of documents containing planning policies and guidance that help manage the location and design of development in the town in order to ensure that future development in Crawley is sustainable and meets the needs of the community and the local economy.
Residential Street Scene and Parking Improvements the Residential Street Scene and Parking Improvement Programme includes a priority list of schemes which represent the most severe parking problems in Crawley that would benefit from increased parking provision, improved circulation/access and enhancement and protection of the street scene.
Development Control is responsible for providing pre-application advice, determining all planning applications, including work to trees, advertisements and listed buildings.
The Street Naming and Numbering Team is responsible for naming and numbering of streets in the borough.
Sussex Building Control ensures that all new building work is built according to national building regulation standards for health and safety and that they benefit everyone.
