First time buyers get feet on the ladder

Crawley is a first time buyer hotspot, according to a report by financial information group Experian Property Check.

The report lists the top ten places in the UK where first time buyers have purchased their homes, with Crawley featuring seventh in the UK.

Residents getting their feet on the property ladder for the first time account for 7.8 per cent of all house buyers in Crawley. Milton Keynes, in Buckinghamshire, is top of the list with 9.5 per cent.

Crawley has many attractions for first time buyers, including reasonable property prices for the region, great transport links and leisure facilities.

Councillor Richard Burrett, Cabinet member for Housing, said: “I’m pleased to see Crawley in this list – it’s confirmation that the town is an attractive yet more affordable place for people to purchase their first home.

“Crawley is an economically vibrant urban centre, a business and transport hub only minutes from beautiful Sussex countryside and half an hour from London and Brighton.”
