Lunchtimes at St John's

Lunchtimes at St John's Music St John's Church, off Crawley High St. All Ages Free 26/06/2017 30/06/2017 Crawley school children and other groups will be performing in the lovely setting of St John's Church, off Crawley High Street. All performances are free, and you are invited to bring your sandwiches and have lunch whilst being entertained
Monday 26 June, 12.30pm - The Silver Birch Singers, from Age UK, led by John Scott Cree. The programme features well-known Latin American songs from the 1940's and 50's, with guest musicians Frank Scully (percussion) and Brian Parks (mandolin). Come prepared to sway to carnival rhythms and sing-along to La Bamba, La cucaracha etc. Carmen Miranda costumes welcome (especially worn by ladies!)

Tuesday 27 June - 11.30am Langley Green Primary School 'Cinders' present extracts from their forthcoming production 'Cinders' , Langley Green's own version of Cinderella, set in a world obsessed with social media. Cinders is hidden away and mistreated by her family, and with no Fairy Godmother to help her in this story, she has to find a very different happy ending.

Tuesday 27 June 12.45pm - St Francis of Assisi Catholic Primary school KS2 choir will present some of their favourite songs. The choir sings regularly at school and community events, and also competes in music festivals. Earlier this year they won first prize in the Mid Sussex Competitive Music Festival, they also came 2nd in the Sutton Music Festival. Performing together with Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Primary school choir at the Leith Hill Music Festival, the combined choir won the 'adjudicator's choice' prize .

Wednesday 28 June - 12.30pm - The West Sussex Music Trust - Crawley Youth String Orchestra, directed by Wendy Cooper, and Vocal Soloists led by Rosie Secker. Excerpts from 'The Four Seasons' by Vivaldi, and 'Music of the Night'

Thursday 29 June - 12.30pm - Gossops Green Primary School - Pupils from Year 6 will perform a range of uplifting songs to cheer up your lunch break.

Friday 30th June - 12.30pm - Oriel High School GCSE music students will showcase some of their exam pieces.
