We are currently looking for volunteers to help lead or assist local health walks. See our flyer for more information on the benefits of being a health walk leader and details on how to book on to the free training session.
Walking is a great form of exercise regardless of how fit or old you are. Walking is especially important for those with specific health problems or with limited fitness.
This easy, safe and gentle exercise can help to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, strokes, diabetes, high blood pressure, Alzheimer’s disease, osteoporosis, arthritis and stress.
Health walks are provided free of charge and all you need are comfortable, laced shoes. Walks are supervised by qualified walk leaders to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
More experienced walkers may wish to join one of the Gatwick Greenspace Partnership countryside walks which take place in Crawley and the surrounding area. Walks are approximately three hours in duration, averaging six miles along countryside footpaths. Download the April to September programme of walks.
If you would like to try some other walking routes around Crawley please take a look at the Greenways page , where you can find various circular walks that can be done in your own time.
Please watch this space for new outdoor health programmes in and around Crawley.
