Due to some routine track maintenance works the BMX Track will be closed from Monday 6 February. The work is due to last 2 weeks, weather permitting, and will re-open after a site inspection.
The inclusive BMX track is at Cherry Lane playing fields, just behind the adventure playground. To find out where this is and how to get there view the map or for more detailed directions click on how to get to Crawley and view the area map .
Crawley Borough Council was awarded funding from West Sussex County Council’s Aiming High for Disabled Children Fund to construct the inclusive facility and to provide opportunities for disabled children and young people to access cycling activities.
The council has worked very closely with young people including local BMXers, mountain bikers and also students at Manor Green College by involving them with the design of the new BMX Track from the outset. These design suggestions and ideas have been accommodated, where possible, for inclusion in the final design which was produced by Dirtworks BMX.
Although the BMX Track is an open access facility, it is strongly recommended that all riders wear appropriate protective gear, including a helmet, gloves, and knee and elbow pads. The wearing of safety equipment during all council-led sessions and competitions is compulsory (supplied by Crawley Borough Council where necessary).
The BMX Track is an unsupervised facility.
