The Olympic Road Cycling Race, took place on 28 and 29 July, and included a section of Mole Valley in the route, offering Crawley residents a fantastic opportunity to witness an Olympic event without the need to travel into London.
The men's and women's races started at The Mall, travelling through six London boroughs, four Royal Parks and the Surrey countryside. As part of the race the competitors came through the Mole Valley district, with the women completing 2 laps of Box Hill and the men going round 9 times.
