Youth Awards 2011

The sell-out ceremony at The Hawth saw more than 800 people turn out to be part of an emotional evening of recognition which was joined together with impressive performances by local young people.

Twelve outstanding under-25s received awards through four categories; Community, Sport, Art and Personal Achievement, which were all sponsored by local organisations, voluntary groups and businesses.

Over 330 young people were nominated for an award and they all received a medal for their achievements. The winners of each category were:

• Crawley Safety Partnership Music Award - ICC Chagossian Drummers
• Crawley Metal Supplies Visual Arts Award - Topsy Turvy Training Academy
• Topsy Turvy Dance and Drama Award - Bridges Arts Group
• 'Let's FACE it' Environment Award - 7th Crawley Beavers
• Crawley Lions Carer Recognition Award - Jasmine Cook and Elizabeth Eves
• Crawley Young Persons Council Volunteer Award - Crawley Young Persons Council
• Eezehaul Sport Person Award - Adam Parker
• Freedom Leisure Sports Team Award - St Wilfreds U16 Netball Team
• Crawley Schools Sports Partnership Sports Volunteer Award - Charlie Hoffman
• Sussex Police Courage Award - Liam Dallamore
• West Sussex Youth Service Education Award - Michael Neale
• Apollo Group Inspiration Award - Sophie Evans
