The library opened in December 2008 and is a landmark in building design, the most sustainable in West Sussex. The register office is also based here, with its own separate entrance.
The new library is larger and more accessible, with better facilities, including a coffee shop, dedicated ‘headspace’ area for teenagers and a Help Point for all kinds of enquiries.

The Library and Neighbourhood Hub in Broadfield Barton provides a wide selection of books and children’s activities, as well as a permanent local police base, separate office space and an open-plan area for use by the council and partner organisations, such as Victim Support.

Crawley library now has self-service terminals for returning and borrowing items. As well as books you can find the latest in film, music and games, including Blu-Ray, and try music out first at a listening post.
There is a wide selection of audio and large print books as well as MP3 books. There are meeting rooms, study areas, PCs and a local history area.

Run from Broadfield Library, Crawley’s Mobile Library provides a fortnightly service (to most mobile stops) allows you can take books out and return them, just as you would any other library.
The service includes Adult Fiction (including large print) books, Adult Non Fiction / information books, Children's stories and information books, Music CD's and Spoken Word Cassettes.
Stock is rotated on a regular basis and you can also take your request for book and enquiries for information.
