An ambitious plan to help Crawley people to access better quality job opportunities within the town has been launched.
The plan aims to address skills gaps in the local workforce through four main projects – a Town Centre Skills Academy, Gatwick Skills Laboratory, Crawley Young Workers Scheme and Employ Crawley.
We’re asking residents and businesses to comment on the draft plan. Find out more on our Consultation page.
Our council is an ambitious and exciting place to work. We want to continue to be a high performing council with motivated employees who are proud to work here and make a difference to people’s lives. We want to be an employer of choice, attracting talented and skilled people to work for us to improve our service to the community. We welcome applications from all sections of the community.
Crawley Borough Council has been accredited as a Living Wage Employer. This means that all directly employed staff are paid a minimum of the Living Wage, with the exception of apprentices and under 18s who are exempt. The Living Wage is calculated according to the cost of living in the UK. It’s set independently and updated annually.
We believe in equality of opportunity for all current and potential employees.
We are an accredited member of the Two Ticks ‘Positive about Disabled People’ scheme which is awarded annually to the council by Jobcentre Plus. We are positive about employing people with disabilities and will take all reasonable steps to meet any special requirements individuals invited to interview may have.
We are a Veteran friendly employer, and are positive about employing people who have served in the Armed Forces. We guarantee an interview to any applicant who meets the essential requirements of the role and has served in the Armed Forces in the past 3 years.
