Do you need more storage space?

For a place to keep your car or bikes, or to declutter your house, rent one of 5000 garages or outside storage cupboards from the council.

You don’t have to be a council tenant to rent a garage or storage cupboard from us – take a look at the Garages Available page to see what you can rent this week.

Rental Costs from 01 April 2013

The weekly rental for a garage is £9.42 for council tenants and £11.30 (inc VAT) for owner occupiers/private tenants. Storage cupboards are £1 a week.

Rent a second garage at a reduced rate of £4.90 for council tenants and £5.88 (inc VAT) for owner occupiers/private tenants. Find out more about the reasons for varying rates of VAT .

When you pick up the keys, we’ll need you to pay four weeks’ rent up front.

In some areas all our garages and storage cupboards are let, but you can put your name down on a waiting list for the next available garage or we may be able to offer you a garage in a different area.

Paying your garage rent

Pay your garage or storage cupboard rent in person, by post, online or by direct debit.

Perhaps the easiest way is by Garage Rents Direct Debit . You will always be in control and will know in advance how much will be debited from your bank account and when.

From April 2011, garage and storage cupboard direct debit amounts are calculated by working out the number of Mondays in the month:
