Tenant and Leaseholder Action Panel (TLAP)

The Tenant and Leaseholder Action Panel plays a crucial role in Crawley Homes’ approach to co-regulation. Taking on the challenge of scrutinising performance this group makes sure we provide resident-centred services of the highest standard and makes sure that residents are at the heart of the business.

What they will do

  • Use the National Standards framework to help them monitor the work of Crawley Homes.
  • Provide an independent check on performance.
  • Improve performance and service delivery by challenging results and advising on standards and local offers.
  • Liaise, in writing, with service groups, Crawley Homes Advisory Group and Senior Management Team on project findings and performance results.
  • Look at Stage 2 complaints to make sure the approach taken has been fair.
  • Produce, as part of a team, the Annual Report to Tenants.

Meetings

The panel will meet a minimum of four times a year and will follow the agreed standards for meetings and code of conduct.

Money… money… money…

In 2011 the panel looked at the amount of money owed to Crawley Homes, not only the rent arrears of existing tenants, but money owed by tenants who have moved on (former tenants) and money owed by leaseholders.

They met up with the managers concerned and drew up a short report. The recommendations from this project were discussed by Crawley Homes Advisory Group (CHAG).

As this panel is such a crucial part of Crawley Homes, the members had to go through a selection process to make sure they have the skills to do the tasks involved.
