South and South East in Bloom is a competition that promotes, supports and encourages community activity through gardening, horticulture and environmental sustainability across the south-east. It is part of Britain in Bloom – Europe’s largest horticultural campaign.

The annual awards recognise excellence in local councils who work with the community to make their parks and streetscene clean, green and colourful, all year round.
Crawley has won a gold award at this years South and South East in Bloom Awards, in the small city category, competing against Canterbury, Fareham and Gosport. Fareham was the category winner.
The judges scored Crawley’s entry highly in all three categories – parks and streetscene, environmental responsibility and community participation, and were particularly complimentary about the Let's FACE it! community volunteering campaign, attractive planting schemes in the town centre, recent improvement works in Tilgate Park, our recycling programme and involving residents in snow clearance.
Crawley was also selected to represent the south east in the small city category at the Britain in Bloom Awards in October and won the silver gilt prize.
South and South East in Bloom is a charity and independent region of Britain in Bloom covering Kent, East & West Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, East & North Dorset and East Wiltshire. It is one of 17 regions of the Britain in Bloom movement.
The South and South East in Bloom regional campaign, sponsored by Southern Water encourages County, District, City, Borough, Town & Parish Councils, Communities, Residents and Businesses to get involved and work together to improve the environment locally.
