South and South East in Bloom is a competition that promotes, supports and encourages community activity through gardening, horticulture and environmental sustainability across the south-east. It is part of Britain in Bloom – Europe’s largest horticultural campaign.
The annual awards recognise excellence in local councils who work with the community to make their parks and streetscene clean, green and colourful, all year round.
For the fifth consecutive year, Crawley has been well rewarded at the South and South East in Bloom Awards for its parks.
In the Large Park category, Tilgate Park swept up the gold award for its beautiful scenery, surpassing last year’s result when the park received the Sliver Gilt.
Worth Park retained the Sliver Gilt award in the Heritage Park category and Memorial Gardens, in the Park of the Year category, received the Silver Gilt.
This year’s efforts adds to the town’s fantastic success over the past few years. In the past seven years Crawley has won:
South and South East in Bloom is a charity and independent region of Britain in Bloom covering Kent, East & West Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, East & North Dorset and East Wiltshire. It is one of 17 regions of the Britain in Bloom movement.
The South and South East in Bloom regional campaign encourages County, District, City, Borough, Town & Parish Councils, Communities, Residents and Businesses to get involved and work together to improve the environment locally.
