Northgate is located directly to the north of Crawley town centre. The area was built in the 1950s as part of the new town development. The area gets its name from the North Toll Gate from the London to Brighton road which runs through the area.
The neighbourhood is well located within walking distance of both the town centre and the Manor Royal industrial estate. Despite its proximity to the town centre it still boasts a number of local facilities including a shopping parade, community centre, primary school and it is also home to Crawley Library.
