The Community Trigger

What is the Community Trigger?

The Community Trigger is intended to encourage a collaborative problem-solving approach amongst the police, council and other relevant bodies when dealing with serious and persistent cases of ASB and hate crime, and to identify whether further action can be taken to resolve the problem.

The Community Trigger leaflet provides information about the Community Trigger, explains when it can be used, and tells you what to expect if you decide to activate it.

The Community Trigger does not replace organisations' own complaints procedures, and you still have the opportunity to complain to the Ombudsman or Independent Police Complaints Commission if you are unhappy about the service you have received from an individual or service.

How do you activate the Community Trigger?

  • Fill out the eform
  • Download a printable form or request a form from one of the following bodies:
    The Council on 01293 438438
    The Police on 101
    Or, your housing association
  • Alternatively, you can call one of the above and provide the relevant details over the phone.
