The Council’s Economic Development Unit and its partners aim to maintain sustainable growth and nurture local businesses and encourage entrepreneurs.

is a West Sussex business support programme offering one-to-one support to local companies through a series of workshops, events and access to expert advice. It also includes a business ‘start up and grow’ grants scheme and apprenticeship support across the County for people aged 18-24 by providing employers with a grant of £2,500 towards salary costs.

is a web portal for businesses. It includes an online directory of business support organisations and a calendar of business events in the Coast to Capital area.

in the Gatwick Diamond is a web resource developed to help reduce complexity of starting a new business.

a national campaign by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs to celebrate, inspire and accelerate enterprise in the UK.

is a vibrant and active part of the local business and community, it provides place to learn, share, lobby and socialise.
- Federation of Small Businesses
(FSB) specialises in promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small firms.

an accredited Chamber of Commerce supporting and representing businesses at a local level.

Central Sussex College
is committed to providing excellent education, training and development opportunities for large and small businesses. The College works closely with local businesses and have a very active employer service to support recruitment, training and workforce development.
A new University Centre
at the college has been developed in partnership with the Universities of Brighton and Chichester and provides local and flexible higher education and qualifications for adults and employers, and cost-effective progression opportunities for young people.
