Freedom of Information

Under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000 and the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) 2004, we are legally obliged to respond to requests for recorded information. We provide this information via an approved Publication Scheme or in response to a request.

Please note that if you are requesting information about yourself, you will need to submit a Subject Access Request (SAR). More information about SARs is on our Data Protection page .

Submitting a request

Before submitting an FOI or EIR request, please check our Publication Scheme and Open Data library , as they may already contain the information you require.

The request should:

Timeframe for responding to requests

You will receive the information requested within 20 working days, unless we do not hold the information or if there is a reason for it to be withheld under a legal exemption. Where a request is refused (in full, or in part) under an exemption, advice and assistance will be provided within our response.
